Our first stop was the industrial complex by exit 84 in Springfield to look for a Swainson's Hawk. Driving in we spotted one flying with prey being harassed by blackbirds and land in a tree 175 yards across a field. We managed to find it and get a couple photos. In two of the photos when processing I noticed what looks like the tail of another, possible mate. Maybe this is the nest site. It was being harassed by blackbirds wherever it perched and eventually flew in circles around the field continuously screaming and being attacked. I think it was trying to draw the blackbirds away from the nest. A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher even attacked it.
